SUSPECTED burglars were arrested after being found hiding in an allotment.

Officers on foot patrol in Salendine Nook heard an alarm go off on Fortis Way at about 2am yesterday.

When they got to the house they found the French doors broken open and the house ransacked. A large flat-screen TV and two smaller TVs were found outside the house, but the suspects had escaped.

A neighbour told officers that two men were seen running from the house.

The police helicopter was called out to help with the search and the two suspects were found in the allotment off nearby Celadine Avenue.

It is alleged the chopper’s infra-red camera picked up the pair, both aged 20, throwing away items including mole grips, gloves and bags of cannabis.

They were arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of cannabis.
