A BURST town centre water main brought chaos in the Monday morning rush hour.

The main, under Queensgate in Huddersfield, burst in the early hours of this morning. Crews isolated the main during the night and were repairing it this morning.

The closure of one lane of the ring road, between Queensgate and Alfred Street created tailbacks for Monday morning commuters.

A spokesman for Yorkshire Water said the hole (pictured) was being backfilled this morning and work would be complete by lunchtime.
