VOUCHERS to pay for expert help and advice are being offered to Huddersfield businesses.
The new Innovation Voucher scheme is the brainchild of Kirklees Council, in partnership with the University of Huddersfield and Kirklees College.
They are inviting local businesses to apply for vouchers worth up to £5,000 to help them develop new and innovative solutions for their business.
The vouchers are to pay for knowledge and expertise for a particular project from a leading expert such as a university, college or research and technology organisation.
Projects could include developing additional dimensions to existing products or services, or providing research information on new process and product design.
Clr Peter McBride, Cabinet member for regeneration, said: “With this scheme we’re giving local businesses the chance to develop their products, services or even their business models to gain an edge over competitors and enhance their performance.
“Innovation is key to success – never more so than in the current climate – and the Innovation Vouchers provide the perfect chance for businesses to take the plunge and try something new.”
“The Kirklees Innovation Voucher scheme will give companies the chance to add value to their business and help them grow during this difficult period.”
Dr Barry Timmins, head of business development at the University of Huddersfield, said: “The University is keen to ensure that our expertise and knowledge have a significant impact on local businesses.”
