CONTROVERSIAL plans for a massive business park go on show to the public next week.

Developers claim the proposed scheme on land at Clifton, Brighouse, could provide more than 3,000 jobs.

But the plans have been condemned by residents who are concerned about the loss of Green Belt.

The company behind the scheme is Leeds-based Premier Property Group Land, which was also involved in the Lowfields Business Park development at Elland.

PPG Land has announced plans for a public exhibition to display its proposals.

Details of the scheme will go on show next Thursday from 10.30am to 9pm at the Holiday Inn, Wakefield Road, Clifton, Brighouse.

The development site - between the hotel and Coal Pit Lane - was earmarked for a business park in Calderdale Council's planning blueprint drawn up in 1990.

Under PPG Land's scheme, the business park would include two office buildings of three or four storeys, small office units and an area for use such as a pub, small hotel or gym. There would also be parking for 2,500 vehicles.
