A BANK that was held up by armed robbers is open as normal from today.
A large amount of cash was stolen from Lloyds TSB in Huddersfield town centre by two men armed with a gun and a knife at about 5pm on Thursday.
The bank opened late yesterday and shut at 4pm.
But a spokeswoman for the company said the opening hours would return to normal today.
Police are still hunting the well built men who stormed into the Westgate bank in black face masks. They threatened staff before making off with the cash.
No-one was hurt during the incident and the suspects made off in a silver Vauxhall Vectra saloon travelling out of Huddersfield towards Trinity Street.
Police were talking to witnesses and examining CCTV footage from the scene yesterday.
Det Insp Andy Garnett, from Huddersfield CID, said: “We haven’t located the offending vehicle yet and there isn’t a lot of intelligence coming in at this stage.”
One of the robbers was wearing a black, waist-length jacket and the other was wearing a light, waist-length jacket.
Anyone with information should call Huddersfield CID on 01484 436685 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
