A BUSINESSWOMAN who damaged six cars while drink driving will be sentenced today.

Emma Dovey, 32, from Linfit Fold, Linthwaite, damaged four cars and a wall while driving on the A62 Manchester Road towards her estranged husband’s home in Marsden, Huddersfield Magistrates heard yesterday.

Dovey, who runs a recruitment company, then damaged another two cars on her way home down Meltham Road.

Following her arrest police found Dovey to be three times over the legal limit.

The court heard Dovey had been on a night out in Huddersfield on May 21 and had returned home by taxi.

Later, upset by her split with her husband, she decided to drive in her Toyota Corolla to his house.

On the way there she struck a parked car which caused a domino effect damaging three other cars.

Dovey, the court heard, reversed hitting a wall and drove off.

On the way home she hit another car which was shunted into another vehicle before she was arrested.

Mitigating solicitor Mark Brooks said this was Dovey’s first offence and she had fully cooperated with the police.

Dovey admitted drink driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
