Fire crews had a busy start to 2015.

Huddersfield fire station crews were called to six jobs in the New Year's Eve/Day shift, which saw them rescue a woman from a house fire in Rawthorpe and rescue a man from a car that had collided with a street light on Bradley Road.

They also had to clear revellers from New Year's Eve celebrations at Verve Bar after someone set fire to a skip nearby, which then set the bar’s alarm off at 1.20am

Earlier in the night they were also called to a car fire on Greenhead Road, plus attended a number of false alarms during the night.

Meanwhile, Dewsbury fire station crews dealt with a three car crash, where one of the vehicles involved was a police car.

One man was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment, but he was not a police officer.
