A HEPWORTH pub and restaurant was today named in The Good Food Guide.

The Butchers Arms was one of 13 new Yorkshire entries in the guide.

There are now 85 Yorkshire restaurants in the guide.

The county also celebrated news that The Yorke Arms, Ramsgill, was given The Good Food Guide Readers’ Restaurant of the Year (North East) award this year, and now joins Anthony’s Restaurant in Leeds (25th) as the only two Yorkshire restaurants in the Top 50.

Anthony’s is owned and run by former Huddersfield Technical College student Anthony Flynn.

Huddersfield restaurants already in the guide include Bradleys, The Dining Rooms at Strawberry Fair, Mustard and Punch, Honley, and The Weavers Shed, Golcar.

Elizabeth Carter, editor of The Good Food Guide, said: “I’ve called Yorkshire the foodie county of Britain in the past and it seems to be in no danger of losing this title with a wealth of restaurants right across the board”.
