A scheme which benefits dogs, dog owners and butchers raised £500 for Kirkwood Hospice.
Butchers at Hinchliffe's Farm Shop in Netherton Moor Road, Netherton, need to get rid of hundreds of meat bones every week.
Instead of relying on local companies to shift the bones, Simon Haigh and his colleagues have been encouraging customers to take them home for their dogs to gnaw on.
In return, the customers give a donation to the Dalton hospice.
Simon, who is seen presenting the £500 to hospice representative Granville Sutton, said: "One of the problems we have in this industry is getting rid of the bones.
"With this idea everybody wins - and it all goes to a very worthy cause."
