TALENTED pupils at Brooksbank School celebrated the opening of their new hall by performing a cabaret night.

More than 130 students and staff entertained family and friends over two sold-out nights.

The evening - titled What a Wonderful World - included a wide range of entertainment from extracts from musical Blood Brothers to samba.

The school, in Victoria Road, Elland, now boasts a new hall and foyer which head of drama Lynne Buckingham describes as `modern and professional'.

"This was the perfect way to open the hall," she said. "The children have done brilliantly well and worked very hard we are all very proud of them.

"A big thanks has to go to teachers David Faulkner, Lyn Ward, Nicola Munro and Simon Fallon, who have worked hard to get everything running smoothly."
