THEY have been named a top Trust for the third year in a row.

The Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust has been named one of the CHKS 40 top hospitals for 2012.

CHKS is an independent provider of healthcare intelligence and quality improvement services.

The accolade is awarded to the 40 top-performing CHKS client trusts and is based on the evaluation of 23 indicators.

These include clinical effectiveness, health outcomes, efficiency, patient experience and quality of care.

The winners were announced at an awards ceremony held in London.

Chairman of the Trust Andrew Haigh said: “I was very proud to collect the trophy on behalf of all our staff who made it possible.

“I am always delighted when the hard work of our staff gets the recognition it deserves.

“The fact we have won it for the third year running is a reflection of the quality of care we are giving to patients.

Managing Director of CHKS Jason Harries said: “Our awards programme provides reassurance to hospital boards, staff and patients that their trust is amongst the highest performers when it comes to data quality, safety and quality of care.

“I’m delighted that so many first class organisations have won our awards this year.”
