TWO officers from Calderdale received awards at an annual celebration of West Yorkshire Police’s outstanding performers.

Chief Constable Sir Norman Bettison presented prizes at the force’s third Excel Awards on Friday.

The Protection of Vulnerable Victims award was won by PC Andrew Britton, domestic violence co-ordinator for the Calder Valley division.

PCSO Samantha Clothier won the Extraordinary Public Service award for her work with local communities in Ovenden.

The Student Officer of the Year award, sponsored by Huddersfield University, was won by North East Leeds divisional PC Asad Razzaq, who has forged links with the Muslim community during six years as a special constable.
