THE sights and attractions of Calderdale are to be showcased in a new Visitor Guide for 2009.

The guide has been produced by Calderdale Council and is sponsored by the Halifax Bank.

It includes colour photography and information about the area along with ideas for days out with the family and must see attractions.

Calderdale offers something for everyone’s taste, whether it is walking over the open moorland or through valleys, shopping, or taking in the local history, the Visitor Guide will point you in the right direction for an enjoyable day out.

Clr Amanda Byrne, portfolio holder for Regeneration and Development at Calderdale Council said: “Calderdale has all the attributes of a unique and quality tourism destination, with tourism worth more than £240m to the borough’s economy.

“By showcasing all the wonderful attractions on our doorstep, we hope the 2009 Visitor Guide will draw in even more visitors, both for days out and longer stays.”
