STUDENTS from Huddersfield have been urged to enter the Young Designer of the Year contest.

The competition, which is in its third year, has been launched by the 2004 Audi Design Foundation.

A-Level and Higher, BTEC and Advanced GNVQ design and technology students can apply by submitting coursework.

Applicants must be aged 20 or under on Monday, March 22, 2004.

The winner will receive £10,000 towards university fees and an annual £500 bursary, plus paid work experience at product design company Virdev.

They will also enjoy a placement at the Audi Design studio in Ingolstadt, southern Germany.

There will be 22 regional rounds, with each regional winner receiving an award, plus £200, an all- expenses-paid trip to Audi's factory in Germany and a place in the final at the Baltic exhibition centre in Gateshead in September.
