MURDER detectives say they have received a number of calls on the shooting of a man near Clayton West.

Christopher Hartley, 45, was shot and left on Litherop Lane in High Hoyland, last Tuesday night.

His body was found in the road near his Jaguar XJ Sovereign.

It is believed Mr Hartley, of Tingley, near Batley, drove the car to the secluded spot for a drug deal before his execution-style killing.

Drugs were found at the scene of the crime. It is thought Mr Hartley would have known his killer.

Police are appealing for information regarding a silver Audi car, with a registration number starting with the letters FP, that was seen driving away.

The driver is thought to have been a white man wearing glasses.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “We have received a number of calls from the public, which will form part of the ongoing investigation.”
