THESE two teenage robbers were caught on camera raiding a town centre bookies.

The pair threatened staff with a knife and demanded cash after walking into Corals on Dewsbury Gate Road, Staincliffe in Dewsbury.

They escaped with a small amount of cash in the robbery just before 9pm on Wednesday, April 30. The office had been due to close just moments later.

No customers were in the betting office at the time the thieves struck and no-one was hurt during the raid.

The knifeman is Asian, aged 16 to 18, 5ft 9ins tall and slim with short black hair combed forward in a fringe.

He wore a plain dark coloured scarf covering his nose and mouth and carried an 8ins knife.

His accomplice is also Asian aged 16 to 18, 5ft 9ins and slim. He carried a grey cash bag.

Det Sgt Jim Carter from Kirklees CID intelligence unit said: "The images we have obtained are quite clear and although the offenders have covered their faces, I would suggest that friends, neighbours or family will know who they are from the pictures.

“This offence obviously left staff working at the bookies shaken, but otherwise unharmed. The amount of cash stolen certainly did not justify in any way the lengths to which the suspects went to for what amounts to a small amount of money.

“We need to catch this duo before they think about doing it again. Their actions cause fear and apprehension within the community and they need to brought to book.”
