A BODY found in Huddersfield Broad Canal has been confirmed as that of missing woman Joyce Pitter.

Police made the grim discovery on Tuesday afternoon in the canal close to Red Doles Road, Fartown .

Concerns were raised for the welfare of the 32-year-old Fartown woman after she went missing from her home last Wednesday.

A post mortem was carried out yesterday.
