BRADLEY man Anthony Phillips is following in his sister's footsteps - by competing in the London Marathon.
Mr Phillips, 33, has entered the race after his sister Sharon, who lives in Leeds, took part last year. He hopes to swell the coffers for the charity she supported, ChildLine, by more than £1,500 when the race takes place on April 17.
Mr Phillips, a supervisor for gas company AMS Ltd, has been training since Christmas. His regime is being supervised by Steve Griffiths, who runs his own business Advance Health and Fitness in Dewsbury.
Mr Phillips, who lives at Park Lea and has a nine-year-old son, Jake, said he was clocking up 40 to 55 miles a week.
"I've been running all over Huddersfield. Hopefully, it will be easier in London where the course is more level!" he said.
He aims to complete the 26-miles in less than four hours and raise more than £1,500 for the charity.
