AFRICAN students got the chance to see British democracy in action.

They went to the trade justice lobby in Parliament yesterday.

The group, from the Moshi Technical School in Tanzania, are on a three-week exchange with students at Huddersfield New College.

Assistant principal Julie France said the visit had been organised with Colne Valley MP Kali Mountford.

She added: "The group have been here for three weeks and we wanted them to see British democracy in action."

Huddersfield New College has been linked with the Tanzanian school for 18 years. Students from Huddersfield visit it during the summer.
