TWO Hungarian men were arrested after a routine check on a car in Ravensthorpe.

Police pulled the car over as part of stop-checks on Huddersfield Road on Saturday.

Identification checks revealed no problems with two women in the car.

But further investigations showed the driver, of School Crescent in Dewsbury Moor, was wanted by Durham Police for fraud offences dating back to January last year.

The other man, of Lee Street, Ravensthorpe, was found to be the subject of a European arrest warrant issued by Hungarian police for an offence in 2004.

Both men were arrested and taken to Dewsbury Police Station for questioning.
