STRUCTURAL engineers were called out after this car smashed into scaffolding outside the West Yorkshire Probation Service building in Huddersfield.

Police closed St John’s Road at the junction with Castlegate after the red Vauxhall Cavalier collided with the metal structure at about 12.15pm on Saturday. The car had been involved in a collision with a silver Honda Civic, which in turn collided with a blue Ford Fiesta, before it hit the scaffolding.

No-one was badly hurt in the incident and police reopened the road shortly after 2.30pm once engineers had confirmed the building was safe.
