COUNCILLORS have approved a residential care home for adults with learning difficulties, despite objections from residents.
Developers Milbury and Voyage want to demolish Westborough Health Clinic in Dewsbury and replace it with the six-bed centre.
Twenty-nine people signed a petition against the plan saying it was inappropriate and unsafe.
But Heavy Woollen Planning Sub-committee yesterdayvoted unanimously in favour of the development on School Crescent.
Clr Derrick Yates, Liversedge and Gomersal Conservative, said: “ I can’t think of a better use for the site.”
