STUDENTS turned out in force for a careers fair at Huddersfield University.

Some 35 organisations set up stalls to provide information and advice on career choices for undergraduates.

They included major retailers Debenhams, Next, Co-operative Group and Asda.

Other firms included earth-moving equipment supplier Caterpillar, banking giant HBOS, transport group Exel and Kerry Foods.

Kirklees and Wakefield councils, the NHS, West Yorkshire Police and West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service also took part.

University careers advisers were on hand to help students with their CVs and there were talks on topics including careers in the Inland Revenue and Customs.

The event was held at the university's Quayside Building on the Queensgate campus.
