PLANS to set-up a carers forum in Huddersfield will be discussed at a meeting this week.
Concern for Mental Health in West Yorkshire will be meeting with carers on Friday to look at ways of developing services.
The event will take place at Huddersfield Methodist Mission at Lord Street from 12.30pm to 4pm.
People are being invited to take part in a series of workshops to boost carers involved in the group’s befriending service for those who have or have had a mental illness.
General manager David Hegarty said: “We are doing this because we respect and value the hard and important work undertaken by carers.
“This forum is their voice and opportunity to create a service which is both professional and accountable to those who use it.”
