WAKEFIELD MP David Hinchliffe is champion - and he's got an award to prove it.
He picked up an honour for his work to help old people.
The Labour MP, whose constituency covers Kirkburton and Denby Dale, was presented with his trophy at the annual ePolitix.com charity champion awards.
The awards pay tribute to the hard work and time MPs and peers devote to charitable causes and campaigns in Parliament.
Mr Hinchliffe, chairman of the Commons Health Select Committee, was nominated by Help the Aged.
"It is a great honour," he said.
A lifetime achievement award was presented to Lord Rix, the Mencap president and veteran disabilities campaigner.
