A RENOWNED artist swapped a gallery for the classroom.

Caro Ward, who went to Huddersfield University, has been running a workshop at Honley Junior and Infant School. She said: “The children gathered leaves, petals and pine cones and they have made wonderful pictures.

“Because I am a painter the children have then taken photographs of them and then painted these bright and colourful pictures. They have looked at famous artists and had help from the teacher, Miss Richardson. We wanted to display them for the past week but because of the weather the rest of the school can enjoy them on their last day.”

Caro has taken her son, Nicholas along with her to help teach the year three and four classes, as he too is a budding artist.

She recently exhibited her work at the Yorkshire show and said that the three days proved very successful. Caro is available for further workshops visit www.caro-artist.co.uk for more details.
