A BUS user has won a year's free travel - simply by giving her views to the bus company.

Carol Ann Senior, of Netherton, was one of 16,000 people in the Huddersfield and Halifax area who received a leaflet through their door from bus company First giving details of changes to local bus services.

The leaflet asked people for their views, as part of a move by First to find out what people wanted from their local bus service.

Andy Scholey, managing director for First's bus operations in Huddersfield, said:

"This time, in addition to having leaflets about changes put on buses and having details in the Examiner, we sent over 16,000 leaflets to householders affected by the changes."

A section was included for people to make comments - with the incentive of being entered in the prize draw.

Mr Scholey said: "Carol is a regular user of our services and I hope her free pass will enable her to be able to use more of our network."
