TWO cars were involved in an accident on a busy Huddersfield road.

A blue Renault and a silver convertible were in collision on Bradford Road around 2pm yesterday.

The accident happened on the town centre-bound carriageway near Thornton Fencing at Ashbrow.

The bonnet of the convertible was badly crumpled and the passenger-side air-bag inflated.

The driver’s side of the Renault was damaged in the accident and its right indicator was flashing as it sat stranded in the road. Two police cars and an ambulance were called to the scene, but it was not clear last night if anyone had been seriously injured in the accident.

The inside lane of Bradford Road remained open as police dealt with the incident.
