A CASE against a man accused of theft has been adjourned.

Robert Sykes, of College Street, Crosland Moor, had been due before Kirklees magistrates yesterday.

He is accused of stealing confectionery and other foodstuffs from the Co-op on April 18.

Mark Brookes, defending, asked magistrates to adjourn the 25-year-old’s case until this morning.

He said that Sykes had been remanded in custody to appear on other matters.

Magistrates agreed to adjourn the case until then.

He was granted technical conditional bail because of his remand status.
