HOMEOWNERS and people who live in private rented accommodation are being reminded they may be able to get help to keep their homes warm. The Warm Homes Kirklees Scheme funded by the local council aims to help people with household incomes under £20,000 who spend a large part of their money on heating. The scheme provides central heating and loft and cavity wall insulation, but is not for people who have any income-related benefit. Funding is limited and applications are dealt with on a first come first served basis at the energy efficiency advice centre on freephone 0800 512 012.
