SIXTH-form students have helped raise money for a Huddersfield special school.

The youngsters from Silcoates School in Wakefield raised £1,300 for Castle Hill School, which opened between Newsome and Berry Brow in 2006 to help children with severe learning difficulties.

Fundraising activities included an Apprentice-style tuck shop task, dress-up days, an art auction and a talent contest.

The cheque comes shortly after a break-in when toys and equipment were stolen.
