KIRKBURTON Business Association has been distributing cash to worthy causes.
The association has donated £1,600 to help victims of the Asian tsunami.
And back home, £1,500 was donated to Kirkburton uniformed groups, including the local Scouts and Guides.
Some of the money was used to help them rebuild their meeting hut, which had been vandalised.
Kirkburton junior football and cricket teams also received £275 each for new kits.
The money was raised at fundraising events last year.
They included a series of well-supported Christmas events such as Santa's grotto and horse-drawn carriage rides.
Generous Kirkburton people helped the association net a bumper fundraising total.
For several years, the association has raised funds for facilities in Kirkburton, including providing the village's Christmas lights and tree.
