A SCHOOL wants to install solar panels in its roof.
Castle Hall Specialist Language College at Mirfield has applied to Kirklees Council for a certificate of lawfulness before it installs the solar panels.
The school in Richard Thorpe Avenue, Mirfield, was saved from closure last year following a vociferous campaign by Retain Education at Castle Hall (Reach).
The campaign group was set up in 2008 to fight Kirklees plans to close the school.
Planning officers have been delegated to deal with the application within the next few weeks.
