WEST Yorkshire’s Chief Constable was involved in a dramatic arrest in Brighouse.

Sir Norman Bettison was in the town to visit traders' organisation Brighouse Shopwatch.

As its chairman, Gail Subham, showed him how the stores' early warning radio system works it alerted police to a disturbance in Sainsbury’s car park.

Sir Norman and two uniformed officers dashed to the scene, broke up the disturbance and chased a man, who was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.
