POLICE want to speak to this man following the theft of a husky puppy from a car at a Huddersfield business.

As reported last Saturday, eight-week-old Eddy was snatched from his owner’s car at Northgate Vehicle Sales on Red Doles Lane, off Leeds Road.

This CCTV image was captured on a camera at the offices at around the time of the theft.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said the man was not necessarily under suspicion at this time – but officers wanted to talk to him in connection with their enquiries.

Eddy had been taken to Northgate Vehicle Sales by his owner Ashley Moss, 24, of Shepley, on the morning of Thursday, March 10.

Ashley, who works for a facility management company, was carrying out electrical checks at the premises but had left Eddy in his Audi car. The doors were unlocked to prevent the security alarm going off.

Shortly after 11.15am a man walked into the company’s offices claiming he was from an animal welfare charity and inquiring if he could have a van for free.

He was turned away and a short time later Ashley discovered the dog was gone.
