LILIAN Wilshaw, one of 10 children, has just celebrated her 100th birthday.
Mrs Wilshaw, a resident at Cherry Tree Court residential home in Shepley, for the past four years, received a telegram from the Queen and one from the Department of Work and Pensions.
She was born at Hade Edge and worked as a weaver at W H J Barber's, Holmbridge.
Mrs Wilshaw She has a son and daughter, two grandchildren and four great-grand- children.
Before moving into the home she lived in her own house in Modd Lane, Holmfirth.
She celebrated her birthday with family and friends and received a visit from Kirklees Mayor Clr Mary Harkin.
