BREAKFAST is a winner with guests at a Huddersfield town centre hotel.

The Central Lodge Hotel at Beast Market has received an award sponsored by Kellogg’s for its Yorkshire Breakfast.

The “egg cup” award was made after a secret visit by an inspector from tourist body Enjoy England.

Breakfasts entered for the award are judged on choice, quality of products used and service.

Breakfasts prepared at the Central Lodge are organised by Angela and Janice Marsden, the wives of co-owners Johnny and Joe Marsden.

Joe said: “Janice and Angela take it in turns to organise breakfasts, which means a 6am start every day.”

The hotel’s full breakfast includes free range eggs, British back bacon, farm-bought British pork sausages, tomatoes, mushrooms, black pudding, baked beans, potato hash browns and omelettes.

There’s also a choice of teas and coffees, cereals, fruit juices, breads, preserves and yoghurts.
