PEOPLE involved in voluntary work could end up being lucky in love, says the organisation behind it.

Kirklees Volunteering is holding a special event called Lovunteering.

It gives people a chance to do a few hours voluntary work and, possibly, to meet someone special.

The event will be held in Huddersfield on Saturday October 29 - national Make A Difference Day.

People will get the chance to try two volunteering tasks - one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. Lunch is included.

The day will end with drinks at a town centre bar.

Organiser Sharron Wilkinson, of Volunteering Kirklees, said: "We all know people who are single and say how difficult it is to try and meet like-minded people.

"This event aims to show people how fun volunteering can be and also gives people the chance to meet others with similar interests.

"As an added bonus you may even find your soul mate."

She added: "All you need to do is be willing to donate one day of your life, be over 18 and be interested in trying something new."

One of the tasks will be with the Milnsbridge Enhancement Group and the Environmental Alliance - painting unsightly railings in Milnsbridge.

The other task is designing T-shirts at Volunteering Kirklees' Lord Street office for the Kate and Daniel Trust, which provides counselling and support to families bereaved of a child.
