PEOPLE can take a trip back in time and find out more about local history or the history of their families in a series of new courses.

The Kirklees Community History Service and the Workers' Educational Association are running three 10-week courses starting next week.

Charlotte and Emily Brontë: The Romantic Imagination will start on Monday at The Red House, Gomersal. It will provide an opportunity to find out more about the famous authors who lived in Haworth in the 19th century and the inspiration for their works.

A History of the Textile Industry in Huddersfield and District starts next Wednesday, at the Tolson Museum, Moldgreen. And Starting Your Family History will begin on Friday, January 16 at the Bagshaw Museum in Batley.

This course will explore the various resources available in Kirklees for researching family history.
