THE public will get the chance to meet bobbies face to face at a series of police roadshows.

The first is at 10am on tomorrow at the Co-op on Commercial Road, Skelmanthorpe, moving onto Wakefield Road in Denby Dale in the afternoon.

Neighbourhood policing team officers will provide information about West Yorkshire’s Policing Pledge – a list of 10 guarantees about police standards – and offer crime prevention advice.

Kirkburton Neighbourhood Policing Team Inspector Nick Harvey said: “The roadshow will be heading to various locations throughout Kirklees over the next month and will be a chance for members of the public to discuss any issues they may have with an officer from the neighbourhood policing team.

“I would encourage people just to come along, have a chat and get to know their local officer.”

Pc Mark Wall will be there on tomorrow afternoon to advise people on crime prevention, including tips on avoiding burglaries, thefts from gardens and car crime.

Information will be available at Skelmanthorpe Library on Thursday.
