PATIENTS are being invited to voice concerns about health services in Huddersfield.

An exhibition is being held on September 21 to offer people the chance to meet health professionals and gather information about a range of issues in the area.

The display will coincide with the annual general meeting of Huddersfield's two primary care trusts.

The event, at Huddersfield Rugby Union Football Club, Lockwood Park, will include presentations about new developments in healthcare across the town.

Patients will be able to learn more about the new "Choose and Book" scheme being introduced in all GP surgeries by the end of the year.

There will also be information about the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) which was set-up to deal with patients queries.

Kevin Holder, chief executive of Huddersfield Central and South Huddersfield primary care trusts, said: "We warmly welcome members of the public to come along and find out how we are spending NHS money and how we are improving health services locally.

"This event is an excellent opportunity to share information with our local community and a chance for local residents to air their views."

The exhibition will run from 6pm to 7.30pm and will be accompanied by a finger buffet. The annual general meeting starts at 6.30pm.
