HUDDERSFIELD patients are being asked to nominate their favourite health workers for an award.

District nurses, health visitors and school nurses are among those to be rewarded at a special ceremony paying tribute to health staff for their hard work and dedication.

The awards, organised by the Huddersfield Central and South Huddersfield primary care trusts, will consider the achievements of all its staff.

The trust intends to reward individuals and teams who have shown innovation in delivering higher standards, faster treatment and quality care.

Rob Napier, chairman of Huddersfield Central PCT, said:

"This will be the first of what we hope will become an annual event to recognise and reward dedication and skills.

"We hope Examiner readers will put forward nominations based on their own experiences."

People wishing to nominate a person or team for an award should submit the name, job title, workplace and describe in no more than 400 words why they believe they have been outstanding in 2004.

Entries should be sent by post to: Jasmin Turner, South Huddersfield PCT, FREEPOST NAT 7320, Huddersfield, HD4 5QL or by email to: jasmin.turner @southhuddersfield-pct.nhs.uk.
