BATLEY and Spen MP Mike Wood is hoping local people will get involved with the creation of a new national strategy for carers.
The Government is looking to make sure the voices of those who care for others are at the heart of the New Deal for Carers and Mr Wood wants local people to share their ideas.
Mr Wood and North Kirklees Crossroads – a Batley-based organisation that supports carers – are urging people to submit ideas to the consultation before it closes.
Mr Wood said: “If you care for someone, the government wants to hear from you.
“They have set up an ‘Ideas Tree’ so that adult carers can feedback directly to Government what would make a positive difference to their lives.”
The forms are available to complete online or by hand. They are easy to complete with space for up to three ideas.
There are also some questions to help get people thinking.
The consultation closes in October, but written comments should be posted by Friday September 28.
