A HEALTH boss has welcomed the first year of Change4Life, a Government campaign encouraging people to be more active.

NHS Kirklees assistant director James Williams said: “We are now one year on from the start of the national Change4Life initiative which was set up to tackle the alarming rise in obesity. If we took no action, forecasts suggest that by 2050 only one in 10 adults would be a healthy weight.

“As we enter Change4Life’s second year, we are beginning to see people adopt healthier behaviour.

“These include simple swaps, like switching from full-fat to skimmed milk. or walking instead of travelling by car or bus.

“We will continue to develop campaign in the next year.”
