A MAN has been charged with a shooting in Fartown.

A 24-year-old man suffered face and neck injuries during the incident just after midnight on Sunday, January 30.

The shooting is thought to have taken place in an alleyway linking Alder Street with Ashmere Grove.

Several men were arrested in the days afterwards.

One has now been charged with wounding and burglary.

He was remanded in custody by Huddersfield magistrates to appear before Bradford Crown Court at a later date.

Another man has been charged with burglary and attempted burglary.

Two other men have been charged in relation to drugs matters.

The wounded man's injuries were not life-threatening.

Det Insp Sam Cooke, of Huddersfield CID, said: "We have had excellent support from the public in this case.
