A BIG charity beer festival takes place this weekend.

A BIG charity beer festival takes place this weekend.

And organisers of Monkeyfest 2012 hope to raise thousands of pounds for charity.

The festival, on Saturday and Sunday, is at Armitage Bridge Club – known by all as The Monkey Club.

It is the sixth year of the festival, which will again feature a huge selection of beers and music from local bands and Lindley Brass Band.

A special beer has been brewed for the festival by Mallinsons, in honour of Huddersfield Town’s promotion win in May.
