Charity group says thanks for gifts of food

KIND-hearted people responded to a call to provide food for the elderly and needy after an appeal by Huddersfield 68 Round Table.

Before Christmas, the Round Table organised a collection of tinned food around households in Highburton, Brockholes and Oakes.

The Round Table has traditionally given out the food to the needy and elderly.

But this year the distribution is being organised by St Thomas's Church at Bradley.

Church members will distribute the food to those who need it most.

Tim Roberts, of the Round Table, said: "We would like to extend our thanks to the residents who kindly donated tins."
