FUNDRAISERS have racked up almost £250,000 to help vulnerable children in Yorkshire.
The NCH’s Growing Strong appeal was launched last July to help boost the wellbeing of children and young people from Yorkshire.
Charity workers from NCH, one of the UK’s leading children’s charities, have revealed they are now over the £230,000 mark, as they pass the halfway stage of the year-long fundraising appeal across the region.
But they still have a long way to go as they strive to reach their overall goal of £400,000.
Vicky Thaxter, from NCH, said: “Our thanks go to everyone in the area who has helped make this appeal a huge success so far.
“The public’s generous support has done so much to make a real difference to NCH’s work with some of the most vulnerable and excluded children and young people in the area.
“We’re striving to reach our £400,000 target and need more people to join us in raising funds, so that we can help even more young people.”
All the money raised through this campaign will help NCH projects, such as the Foster Care, a scheme offering foster care placements across Yorkshire to children with difficult and complex histories.
