A CHARITY has helped the wife of an ex-Serviceman.
Kenneth and Carole Binns live in Skelmanthorpe and disabled Mrs Binns needs a mobility scooter.
The Soldiers', Sailors', Airmen and Families' Association has helped them to buy the scooter and also bought a shed where it can be kept.
Mr Binns was a medical orderly in the Royal Air Force during his two years' National Service in the early 1950s.
An association Forces Help caseworker, Malcolm Kirk, assessed the couple's needs and made an application to the RAF Bene- volent Fund, which gave them the grant.
Mr Binns said: "It's absolutely wonderful and we are delighted by what has been done for us by the fund and Forces Help."
The association's Forces Help group is a charity which helps Service personnel, along with those who have retired and their dependants.
Many people do not realise the help the association can give.
It can be contacted on 01484 425472 or people can call at 13/14 Kings Head Buildings - above the Lloyds TSB bank on Cloth Hall Street, Huddersfield - on Tuesdays or Fridays between 9.30am and 11am.
