A CHARITY shop nearly has it all - welcoming staff, well-stocked shelves and a village centre location.

But it is just lacking one essential thing - customers.

The Debra charity shop in Meltham Road, Netherton, opened at the end of June.

But customers have been few and far between.

"Not a lot of people know we're here and it's a shame because we have some really good quality items donated," said shop manager Sarah Gash.

Her 13-year-old daughter Nicole, who attends Almondbury High School, decided to help out by making a "Customers Stop" sign.

And the charity shop, which raises money for the genetic blistering skin condition epidermolysis bullosa, hopes more people will now visit.

"It's a quiet village and we're the only charity shop here, but we have a lot to offer," added Sarah.

Debra also has charity shops in Holmfirth, Salendine Nook and Mirfield.

The Netherton shop is open 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday and 9am to 4pm on Saturday.
